93ft East Design Brief

"The Fantastical Fairground"

Calling all illustrators, artists, film-makers and creatives!

We look to you to explore the weirs, indulge in the wonderful and produce imagery drawing inspiration from the fantastical land of the circus.

Feast your ears on Pulps 'Fairground' (Album -FREAKS), your third eye on Tom Browning's 'Freaks' www.metacafe.com/watch/213808/freaks/ , read through Tod Robbins 'Spurs' www.olgabaclanova.com/spurs.htm, and be inspired.

Format can be as varied as the content, but bear in mind that the work must be transferable both to get it to the venue and further for it to be printed. (Animators/filmakers - if necessary we will be able to set up a projector to display your delights and storyboards of a high quality are perfect for print.)

The successful applicants will have their work displayed at DIY-WOMP's first residence at 93ft East (www.93feeteast.co.uk), it is set to be a spectacular evening full of music, bearded ladies and visual delights.

In addition to this the TOP 10 entrants will have their creations put to print in our in house magazine 'AAT' next spring!

Who knew that drawing famous people could be quite this much fun, I especially enjoyed giving them calico faces and worked hard on the wooden smiles. All in all they were a lovely couple to work with, wonderful times.
